The Beauport Hotel is nothing short of history in the making. Windover was involved from its very beginning, even well before design started to take shape. A true partner to the owners, our team advocated for the project through the early stages of property acquisition and permitting. In the programming phase, our team continued to provide counsel on building siting, design, and budget. This gave the owners the backup they needed to gain the city’s endorsement for this new and one-of-its-kind addition to their community.
Maritime History…Freshly Interpreted
This oceanfront hotel features 94 guest rooms with commanding views, a restaurant and bar, multiple function spaces including a conference center and ballroom, a roof-top pool, and a parking garage at ground level. Because design plays such an important role in creating the hospitality experience, it was a key focal point for the project from very early on. Our team assisted the owners in procuring an excellent architectural and design team with a vision that could capture the essence of classic New England coastal character. And indeed, the building’s design recalls the grand shingle style hotels that once dotted Gloucester’s seacoast at the turn of the 19th century, but in a fresh interpretation that will be entirely unique to Beauport.
Design/Build Advantage
Our team managed a design/build planning and construction approach that delivered the benefits of unsurpassed quality, scheduling, and budget control on the project. Windover’s design/build management did not stop at construction and design. Windover managed all the details down to the linens and silverware to provide a completely turnkey facility upon turnover. Working closely with our design/build partners, Windover’s mitigated obstacles in the field through accurate preplanning to help the project stay on course. In addition to building the four-story, wood framed hotel, our team completed the erection of a new seawall for the property that expands its beach front.
