Each quarter, we spotlight employees who live out our core values every day. This quarter, we’re spotlighting Assistant Estimator Chris Pellegrini! Chris joined Windover in 2020 as an Assistant Project Manager and was eager to learn and help make each project a success. Recently, Chris’s interest in a different part of the project life cycle was piqued and he eventually joined our Estimating team. Whether it’s learning a new skill to better assist his team or rolling up his sleeves when there’s an issue with the office kegerator, Chris is always willing to jump in and help out, and does so “with a smile on his face,” as one colleague put it. Another of Chris’s teammates shared: “Chris exemplifies all of the positive attributes you would want in an employee, coworker, teammate. He’s always, always smiling, communicates effectively, seeks advice, and genuinely cares about the work he produces.”
Chris took a few minutes to share a little more with us about him and his time at Windover:
What is your favorite thing about working at Windover?
Hands down – the people. Windover’s full of kind, down-to-earth people who shoot straight and want to lend a helping hand.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I enjoy the opportunity to ask questions. I’m early in my career and have a lot to learn. To my luck, most people in our industry have the “it takes a village” mentality and are happy to spend a little extra time explaining how things come together based on their respective knowledge.
What is your favorite part about working with your team?
The ability to have a good time while also getting work done – our team’s full of people with different personalities and experiences. We laugh, joke around, have a few bourbons after work… but when it comes time to switch gears and get the job done, it’s automatic.
What is your current favorite thing to do in your free time?
I’ve always been a big breakfast guy, so my favorite activity right now is grabbing breakfast at Red’s in Salem.
If you were building your dream home, what would it include?
A family, fireplace, and a place to drop my kayak in the ocean.
What is your favorite way to get involved with the community, either through Windover or other organizations?
The North Shore Chamber of Commerce – I enjoy learning about local businesses and meeting people in the community. I grew up on the North Shore, so the Chamber provides a great opportunity for people like to me who are launching their careers to meet some truly amazing people and learn a thing or two.
