Windover Construction was recognized for our professional excellence by the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) with a coveted PRISM Award at the annual awards gala on October 6th. We were awarded a 2016 PRISM Silver Award in the Best Remodeling / Restoration category for our Coastal Contemporary project, a mid-century modern home in Marblehead, Mass.
Cantilevered on a rocky ledge, this 3,400 square-foot home was originally built in 1960 and was purchased from a TechBuilt catalog. Windover completely remodeled the home to open it up to the expansive views of the ocean, and used a collection of modern and traditional architectural materials to give the space a contemporary and understated feel.
“We’re thrilled BRAGB recognized Windover’s craftsmanship and attention to detail in this custom home,” said Stuart Meurer, executive vice president and COO of Windover. “Our team dedicated a strong focus on the building’s craft and was able to maintain a lot of the lines of the original build.”
Also involved in the transformed of this mid-century modern home was interior designer and architect Molly Frey of Molly Frey Design, Timothy Lee of Timothy Lee Landscape Design and Eric Roth of Eric Roth Photography.
Last year, the construction management firm won seven Prism Awards – three gold honors, three silver, and the coveted “Judges Award.”
This year’s PRISM Awards Gala presented awards in nearly 80 different categories to honor the accomplishments of those who influence the building and design industry in Greater Boston. The awards recognize the finest projects and outstanding achievements of builders, developers, project owners, architects, land planners, interior designers, remodelers, and other professionals in the home building industry.
“Each year the PRISM Awards honors the movers and shakers of the home building industry,” said Lorraine DeVaux, CEO of BRAGB. “The ceremony is an incredible opportunity for the building industry to come together and celebrate the accomplishments of their peers. Our winners this year once again prove that New England is home to some of the most extraordinary members of the building industry.”
