Endicott’s new Samuel Wax Academic Center will host two state-of-the-art buildings surrounding a dramatically landscaped academic quadrangle located at the heart of campus. As the design-build lead, Windover has worked in close partnership with Bergmeyer and the school to evaluate various options for the project since its inception—exploring the opportunity of renovating existing buildings for the needed program space versus building anew. From this developed the monumental building siting and program that is under construction today that will serve as the campus anchor for many years to come.
The new facilities will be home to the school’s arts and sciences, education, communication, and hospitality departments, as well as graduate school programs. The buildings will feature 35 classrooms, offices, collaborative spaces, dining and social spaces, as well as a new 1,060-seat lecture hall, a television studio, a 150-seat café, and an adjacent precast parking structure adding 170 parking spaces.
