With Windover already mobilized on Endicott College’s campus, the school felt it was the perfect moment for Brindle Hall to undergo major renovations concurrent with the construction of the neighboring new freshman dormitory. Phase I included the construction of a 2,500 square-foot, four-story addition to the existing structure featuring 11 new dorm rooms, student lounges and common areas on each floor, the addition of a new entrance vestibule, plus full interior renovations to the existing 67 dorm rooms and adjoining spaces.
Phase II brought the structure’s accessibility up to MAAB code with the building of a 600 square-foot, four-story addition featuring a masonry elevator shaft, lobby addition to each floor and structural tie-ins to the existing roof.
Phase III, currently under construction, consists of renovations to community bathrooms on three floors to achieve ADA compliance.
Windover’s team is carefully managing this fast-track, design-build project across three summers to accommodate student occupancy during the school year.
