Flexible, interdisciplinary learning focused the design and construction of this 67,000 square-foot complex located in the center of Endicott’s campus. The innovative three-story building is comprised of two wings, united by a two-story atrium, that each separately host Science and Business curriculums. The intent of the complex is to maximize synergies between Science and Business education to reinforce Endicott’s classroom-meets-corporate teaching methodology.
Responsive Design Meets Responsive Learning Environment
The theme of collaboration is emphasized again and again throughout the building to create a truly responsive learning environment. Flexible furnishings, high-end technology, and operable walls allow the spaces to easily reconfigure based on curriculum needs. The Science center features a diverse array of programs supported by prep rooms, workrooms, dry and wet labs, a robotics lab, and general research labs, as well as computer science and a STEM incubator lab all designed with adaptable workspaces with service drops configured to the ceilings for additional flexibility. The Business wing features computer labs, offices, interactive multimedia classrooms, and team building labs. A shared 160-seat auditorium resides between the two wings.
