This new hospice house was designed entirely with the patient and family in mind, offering a serene and tranquil setting that feels like home. Set upon a hill overlooking the Cambridge Reservoir, the facility looks and feels at one with its natural, wooded setting. The exterior is done in cedar shake with extensive gardens, walkways, and masonry walls repurposed from ledge excavated from the site. The interior features gracious floor-to-ceiling millwork, stone floors, fireplaces, artist installations, and accents such as built-in window benches for the comfort of visitors. Windover managed the preconstruction and construction of the facility which offers 18 inpatient rooms as well as inpatient treatment areas, cafe and commercial grade kitchen, dining, administrative support spaces, nurse’s stations, various lounge areas for quiet contemplation, and a chapel.
